Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A devastating fire broke out on Sunday night in the Chakpara New Palli area of Liluah, resulting in the tragic deaths of an elderly mother-in-law and her son-in-law, while the daughter-in-law remains hospitalized in critical condition. The incident occurred in a house without electricity connection, where the cause of the fire is suspected to be linked to a kerosene lantern or incense stick. Local residents acted swiftly to contain the blaze, alerting both the Liluah police station and fire department, who dispatched two fire tenders to the scene to bring the situation under control.
Despite the efforts of the responders, Angoor Bala Dalui (84) and Madhu Sana (60) succumbed to the fire, while Kamala Sana (45) was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Howrah Police Commissioner Praveen Kumar Tripathi, upon arriving at the site, confirmed the absence of an electricity connection in the house and announced that forensic teams would investigate further to determine the exact cause of the tragedy.
